Only several hundred of this guitar were crafted in it’s debut year of 1959, making this 58 year old guitar a rarity and extremely unique. This beauty packs a huge punch with its 3/4 scale & plays like a dream!

Player’s grade 3/4 Melody Maker, due to heavy sanding in original finish, changed bridge. Features a strong single coil pickup, single slab Mahogany body, Brazilian Rosewood fretboard. Excellent playing condition and a great conversation piece.

This little gem came in from Peter Buck as a trade in toward another vintage Gibson guitar. It has evidence of blue overspray, with original sunburst finish. It has the rare wide single coil pickup only found in first year Melody Maker guitars. Enjoy this one like any other 1959 Gibson solid body.

Condition;

Overall good condition. A naturally strong patina after its 58 year life featuring obvious wear & tear, checking etc. No neck break! The frets are in great condition also. Please have a close look at the high resolution photographs below, as these form part of the description.

Originality:

Externally worn but original with later tailpiece, internally new CTS pots and new input.
